The 5th annual Couture for a Cause is this Saturday, Nov 9th, at 8:00pm and we can't wait! The show pairs local designers with local non-profits to design one-of-a-kind pieces inspired by the organizations. And each year the runway is full of stunning pieces and outfits you'd love to have in your closet.
This year the show will feature over 20 local designers and Project Runway finalist Justin LeBlanc joins the panel of judges while WRAL's Debra Morgan will emcee. The designers whose outfits best capture the essence of the non-profit organization as determined by the judges' panel will win a cash prize. The event also includes a VIP lounge, a red carpet style step and repeat photoshoot, hors d'oeuvre, a cash bar, silent auction, and a live auction of the runway outfits.
We're particularly excited to see creations by Redress Raleigh member Kim Kirchstein, who is paired with Hospice of Wake County. Kim is a talented artist with a BFA in Surface Design who specializes in hand-dyed silk fabrics. Her designs are always luxe and beautiful.
We're also looking forward to seeing glamorous runway looks from Margo Scott, who is paired with The Art of Cool Project. Margo was an essential team member for the Redress Eco-fashion and Textiles Conference this past March and we love her retro style.
And we can't wait to see pieces from vibrant, fun duo Kimberly Ring and Ford Bowden, who are paired with the Boys and Girls Clubs of Wake County. These 2 sophomores from NCSU may be young but they are already incredibly good and Kim's ongoing dedication to eco-consciousness combined with Ford's textiles patterns brings something truly innovative to the runway.
Tickets for Couture for a Cause are $25 in advance and $30 at the door. VIP tickets are $75 and include VIP seating, VIP lounge access and cuisine, private cash bar, coat check, and a goodie bag. The show raises funds to support Activate Good's programs, which aim to activate volunteers to to help causes in the local community.
