Calling all student designers!
There are a lot of considerations inherent in designing and creating a great collection - from fabric choices to colors to accessories to the intended market to the season, among other things! Often, students are expected to fund these collections out of pocket. Our friends at Spoonflower understand student’s have tight budgets to produce their projects and therefore they’ve started this amazing grant, the Emerging Designer Grant. Eligible undergraduate and graduate students can apply to win $150 in Spoonflower credit - usable on digitally printed fabric and wall media.
Spoonflower is a leader in the textile printing field and a great community advocate. Redress is proud to have partnered with them on our recent workshop series and intends to continue building this relationship in the future. Spoonflower is also a great resource for design inspiration, with a website full of gorgeous prints and ongoing textile design contests.
Recent grant recipient Mallory Robinson, who was featured in the August Pop Shop hosted by Redress and Raleigh Fashion Association, was able to use her winning funds in creating her senior collection.
Students, this is an incredible opportunity to secure financial support for your upcoming collection as well as garner recognition from an expert in the textiles industry. Applications are accepted online on a monthly rolling basis so don’t delay, apply now!
