Happening This Weekend: Wide Open Bluegrass

Happy Friday! Take a minute to give yourself a pat on the back for making it through the work week -- these next few hours are gonna fly by, promise.

The ladies of Redress have all decided we're going to take off early today and go explore the great music, food, and activities Wide Open Bluegrass has in store for us! For those of you who don't know much about Wide Open Bluegrass, here's a blurb from their site:

Wide Open Bluegrass is the new weekend festival formerly known as IBMA's (International Bluegrass Music Awards) Fan Fest. It's bigger and bolder and it's outdoors during the nicest time of the year. Get ready for two parts of this huge event. The main stages in the Raleigh Convention Center and Red Hat Amphitheater will host some of the best bluegrass lineups of the fall anywhere in the nation, with Steve Martin & The Steep Canyon Rangers, The Gibson Brothers, Punch Brothers, The Infamous Stringdusters and much more.

And that's just for those of you who bought tickets to the event. If you're on a budget and are looking for free fun:

The other half of Wide Open Bluegrass is a FREE street festival noon until 11:00PM Friday and Saturday. With three music stages, a youth talent stage, the North Carolina Whole Hog Barbecue State Championship, Dance Tent, and many more things to see, do and eat! Follow our adventures on Instagram (RedressRaleigh) throughout the weekend! We'll be checking out the styles and wears of Wide Open Bluegrass attendees.

Enjoy your weekend!
