Redress Runway Preview, Part 2

The REFTC and Eco-fashion show is nine days away, can you believe it? The Redress Runway preview continues today with three more incredible designers who will be showing their collections in downtown Raleigh on May 30th. Check out the talent below:

TEMPERATE

With a mission of producing high quality, low impact clothing in the United States, Temperate, by Ongeleigh Underwood, will be making its debut on the Redress runway this year. The Warm Climate 2014 collection uses organic, non-synthetic materials and is colored with natural dyes. The pieces in the collection are dynamic and can be styled up or down to become suitable for multiple occasions.

Temperate was created after Ongeleigh attended REFTC last year, the passion and knowledge present at the conference was the push needed to bring the brand to life. We are very excited to welcome Temperate to Redress this year!

ZASSDESIGN

We are thrilled to have local favorites ZassDesign on the runway again this year. Zulay and Stephanie Smith have created a unique, original way of upcycling waste into beautiful pieces of jewelry. Each piece has a history and is created from materials such as plastic, cork, aluminum, fabric, and mesh fruit bags.

This year, ZassDesign will be focusing on community, with an emphasis on "Shop Local" in Raleigh. The designs will be geometric in nature and will utilize hand-cut formica pieces in earrings, cuffs, and statement necklaces.

RENEE GRAFF & RACHEL GODOWN

Graff and Godown are both sophomores studying in Fashion and Textile Design at NC State University. We are excited to welcome their collection, "The Denim Do-Over", to the Redress Eco-fashion show this year.

"The Denim Do-Over" reimagines the uses and stereotypes of denim and transforms each pair of jeans into something new, from modern trends to sassy cocktail dresses. Each garment in the collection is created with recycled denim using laser-cutting, digital printing, new distressing techniques, and hand-made embellishments in the new looks.
