Eco-fashion is still a burgeoning movement and role models like Sass Brown who are actively shaking up the industry and inspiring a new generation of designers are essential in carrying things forward. In creating the Redress Eco-fashion and Textiles Conference, we intend to highlight positive action, heartening changes, and innovative design within the industry, and Sass Brown is the perfect speaker to champion these goals! Join us May 30 - 31, 2014!
Sass is currently the Acting Assistant Dean of the School of Art and Design at Fashion Institute of Technology in New York City but has a wealth of additional experience too. She is the New York Editor of Coco Eco Magazine, a slick digital magazine covering ecofashion, beauty, and celebrity, as well as the force behind Eco Fashion Talk, an exceptional online resource featuring a different eco designer each week.
She also spent four years at Perry Ellis Kids as the Vice President of Merchandising and owned and operated her own label for eight years. Her two incredibly beautiful and informative books - Eco Fashion and Refashioned: Cutting-Edge Clothing from Upcycled Materials - have frequently been lauded as 'must reads' and top fashion books in the field and she has recently been touted as one of the 'Top Ten Women Who Changed the Face of Fashion'.
We're overjoyed that Sass will be joining us as a speaker at Redress Eco-fashion and Textiles Conference this year and can't wait to hear more about her amazing endeavors and insights on the fashion and textiles industry!
