PR & Marketing Specialist

Do you love highlighting independent designers you’ve discovered and think everyone should know about through social media or a blog? Or have you been working through digital media to help people create a more sustainable lifestyle? Work in a different type of marketing and want the chance to use your creative side? Redress Raleigh needs a talented individual like you who fits with our values to assist with marketing in a year-round volunteer position!

Primary responsibilities include:

  • Ability to devote a couple of hours each week to developing Redress’ written digital marketing - creating social media posts, working on a blog post, reviewing metrics of a platform, etc.
  • Working with the Executive Director and Graphic Designer to create an editorial calendar for social media that supports Redress’ mission and objectives and upcoming events
  • Working with the Executive Director to create new content for the blog that fits with the editorial calendar
  • Monitoring press releases, regional news outlets, and blogs for source material / story ideas

Qualifications / Experience:

  • An interest in responsibly-made fashion and textiles / a sustainable lifestyle
  • Proven experience creating and managing successful social media campaigns
  • Excellent communication skills
  • BS / BA in a relevant discipline and prior work experience in the field preferred

Web Content Manager

Do you enjoy figuring out new ways to digitally captivate an audience and keep them on a site for as long as possible? Are you detail-oriented, quick to problem solve, and able to fix website bugs? Redress Raleigh is seeking a talented individual to become our web content manager in a year-round volunteer position!

Primary responsibilities include:

  • Maintaining and updating Redress Raleigh’s website on a weekly basis with tasks / content supplied by the Executive Director
  • Working with the Executive Director to upload blog posts as needed
  • Ensuring the website is loading efficiently on both desktop and mobile platforms and finding ways to correct this if not
  • Researching and analyzing websites of similar companies

Qualifications / Experience:

  • Experience in website design and development
  • Knowledge of Squarespace preferred; ability to learn this platform required
  • Excellent communication skills
  • BS / BA in a relevant discipline and prior work experience in the field preferred

Event Coordinator

Redress Raleigh has years of event planning experience but would love to find the perfect event coordinator assistant to help with events as we continue to work toward reaching our goals!

Primary responsibilities include:

  • Working with Executive Director on event logistics for all Redress events, including the annual fashion show
  • Working with Executive Director to create timelines and goals for each event
  • Assisting with set up and clean up of Redress events
  • Helping with marketing and promotion of all Redress events

Qualifications / Experience:

  • Proven success in planning, implementing, and following up with all elements of a major event
  • A professional, enthusiastic demeanor even under times of heavy stress / unexpected complications
  • A problem-solving attitude and ability to communicate ideas quickly and clearly
  • Ability to make phone calls, send emails, and communicate professionally with vendors and other partners involved with an event when requested by Executive Director
  • Prior work experience in the field required

Grant Writer

As a 501c3, Redress Raleigh is continuously looking for grants that will enable us to greatly expand our capacity to meet our goals. If you have prior experience and are interested in making a significant difference in the field of fashion and textiles, we’d love to meet you!

Primary responsibilities include:

  • Meet with Executive Director / Board of Directors to discuss and compile information about the organization’s mission, objectives, current funding sources and budget, past grant applications, and challenges
  • Ability to consistently work on researching and recommending new grant sources that align with Redress Raleigh’s needs (about an hour per week; more during application process)
  • Assist Executive Director in compiling information for and composing written materials for any grant submittal
  • Ability to work with Executive Director to ensure all deadlines and requirements are met for each grant submittal

Qualifications / Experience:

  • Prior experience researching and applying for grants
  • Exceptional written communication skills
  • Excellent organizational skills

Fundraising Consultant

Obtaining sponsorships and creating campaigns for individual giving are essential to Redress’ continued success. If you’re excellent at raising funds and creating persuasive, professional giving campaigns then you’d be an excellent fit for this volunteer position!

Primary responsibilities include:

  • Working with Executive Director to:
    • Create levels, goals, and benefits for each event / campaign
    • Brainstorm potential sponsors and research their company and contact information
    • Help create and maintain connections to potential sponsors and key influencers
  • Working with the Executive Director and Graphic Designer to:
    • Create effective, engaging sponsorship marketing materials
    • Ensure all benefits for sponsors are being fulfilled

Qualifications / Experience:

  • Proven success in planning, implementing, and following up with all elements of sponsorship of a major event
  • High level of integrity and understanding of the importance of partnering with like-minded companies
  • Capable of and interested in building relationships with potential sponsors and key influencers within the fashion and textiles industry
  • Exceptional written communication skills
  • Excellent organizational skills
