Tom Snyder connects industry interests with university research at the ASSIST Center (@ASSIST_NCSU). ASSIST is focused on improving societal health through development of nanotechnology-based, self-powered, wearable sensors that correlate environmental and physiological signals to provide actionable information for individuals to stay healthy. Tom spent two decades patenting and innovating advances in portable electronics and mobile phones before moving to NC State in 2013. He's passionate about creating and fostering collaborations across disciplines, markets, time zones and cultures. He enjoys time outside, playing games, big crowds, craft beer and ideas that are just crazy enough to work.
