Jessica Marati



Jessica Marati is a writer and consultant who is passionate about the intersections of sustainability, style, and social change. Though based in New York City, she spends the bulk of her time on the road, reporting on subjects as diverse as surf culture in Costa Rica, meditation in Thailand, Carnaval in Rio, and Fashion Weeks in Paris, Milan, and Buenos Aires.

Jessica also has a keen interest in start-ups and socially responsible business, and she most recently headed up content, online community management, and social media at Quirky, a New York-based product development company. She has worked with both for-profits and non-profits on media, communications, and retail strategy, including Ahkun, a marketplace for fair trade products; Greenstart, a San Francisco cleantech start-up accelerator; Green Breakfast Club, a monthly networking events for eco-entrepreneurs; and The Supply Change, a consultancy that connects big brands with fair trade artisans. She currently manages social media for Gadling, an AOL travel blog, and is working with New York's Textile Arts Center to revamp its online and offline retail strategy.

In 2011, Jessica launched Tout Le Mondea blog and e-commerce site dedicated to exploring the world of socially responsible style. The store’s debut Cambodia Collection features a handpicked selection of items that are ethically made, sustainably produced, and collaboratively developed in Cambodia.

Jessica Marati is scheduled to give a double-lecture titled "Creating and Sharing your Sustainability Story" on Saturday March 23 from 10:30am - 11:30am. Jessica will share tips on specific tools you can use to share your sustainability story: content strategy, social media, pitching the press, and building a community along with your brand. View full schedule.
